Escambia County Public Schools Foundation’s Grants for Excellence Committee is thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2013 Grants for Excellence Classroom Grant Program. Grants for Excellence is a competitive grant program through which the Foundation awards funding for classroom projects to enhance curriculum and drive student achievement in Escambia County classrooms that is not available through current school or district budgets. This year, the Committee is proud to announce that it has selected 62 projects to fund for a total of $53,862.34.

Escambia County Public Schools Foundation is seeking artwork submissions for its 27th Annual We Believe in Children 5K Run & Health Fair, which will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014. The winner of the contest will have their design on event t-shirts as well as posters, registration forms, and many other marketing materials used to promote this year’s event!

The Escambia County Public Schools Foundation’s Grants for Excellence Committee is pleased to announce that application packets for the Foundation’s 2013-2014 Grants for Excellence teacher grant program are now available. The Grants for Excellence program was developed to provide much-needed resources for Escambia County classrooms that are not available through regular funding sources. Through the program, the Foundation funds preK-12 teacher grants up to $1,000 each and school-wide and department-wide grants of up to $3,000 each.

Pensacola, Florida, March 22, 2013 — The Escambia County Public Schools Foundation hosted the 2013 Mira Creative ArtsAwards Banquet on March 21, 2013. Seventy of Escambia County’s most creative high school seniors were selected as recipients of the 2013 Mira Creative Arts Awards and were honored at an awards banquet at New World Landing on March 21. The event was generously sponsored by Robert G. Kerrigan, Attorney at Law.

The 28th Annual Golden Apple Awards Banquet honoring Escambia County’s 2013-2014 Teachers of the Year was held on February 28, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at New World Landing in Pensacola. Close to 700 guests attended the banquet, presented by Robert G. Kerrigan and United Healthcare. The event showcased the talents and achievements of Escambia County’s 59 Teachers of the Year and also featured a gourmet dinner, special guest speakers, and a special awards presentation during which the overall Escambia County Teacher of the Year was announced. Congratulations to Mrs. Susan Rigby of Pine Forest High School for being selected as 2014 Escambia County Teacher of the Year!

PENSACOLA, FL – The Escambia County Public Schools Foundation announced that 97 Escambia County teachers will have a little extra money for their classroom projects this year thanks to the Foundation’s Grants for Excellence Program. On October 17, 97 grant recipients from 45 Escambia County schools and departments were notified that they will be awarded grants up to $500 from the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation and Autism Pensacola.

PENSACOLA, FL – Students from Ferry Pass Middle School and West Florida High School of Advanced Technology will have the opportunity to learn and apply STEM skills beyond the classroom through an Innovation Generation grant from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc. The Motorola Solutions Foundation provided $50,000 for a second year to challenge Florida’s district-wide local education foundations to inspire students through projects designed to help them solve real-world problems in science, math, technology, and engineering (STEM) areas this school year through a grant to the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations (CFEF).
